WHAT IS BEAUTY?

This six-letter word stirs numerous thoughts in a mind,
Everywhere to be seen, sometimes coarse, sometimes fine.
Connotations so different as we labor to describe
In nature, in love, or simply with life’s stride.

We ask ourselves, what is beauty, and we try to declare,
But there are numerous variables, each with their own flare.
This little word, interchangeable as it may be,
Can leave a lasting impression upon all of us you see.

They say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”,
And this is so true as we define this when older.
We all think of beauty in our own personal view,
Nothing under the sun could possibly be new.

Beauty is a newborn child, who arrives naked at birth,
But as parents, there is nothing more beautiful on earth.
Beauty is the first smile on this young baby’s face,
The glow of happiness as a child full of grace.

Beauty is to the grandmother with a babe in her arms,
Her first male grandchild, so full of charm.
Tears of love define this moment of joy,
Especially for granddad . . . this is “his” boy!

Beauty to the gardener is a totally different view,
His mind sees the beauty in flowers of different hues.
He has laboriously nurtured his plant to this stage,
Where beauty and color so vividly rage.

Beauty is designed from the Master above,
Given to view with his infinite love.
Niagra falls with its waters that soar,
The pyramids as well, architecture galore.
The whited plains of food for us all,
The wheat and the corn stalks standng so tall.
The flowers that grow pretty on the side of the road,
Taking our mind off a heavy day's load.
The sun and its rays so raidiant to view,
The while puffy clouds ever changing on cue.
The cooling rains bless in so many ways,
The gentle breeze making tree limbs sway.
The seasons that come to us year after year,
Giving us changes we hold to so dear.
The snow that covers the ground with such white.
It looks much like daylight even at night.
The white sandy beaches that surround our great land,
With white caped waves washing high upon sand.
The gallons of water that nourish so well,
The seeds we plant for food we can sell.
The wind the blows, sometimes more than we care,
Spreads pollen around for us just everywhere.
Fragrance that comes naturally to us in the air,
From fruit trees and flower's blooms here and there.
The oceans and rivers as they meander along,
Their soft little motions produce silent songs.
Beautiful water falls, cascading so clear.
Yes God's beauty is seen all so near.

Beauty is life, in its vast array,
Breathing our life from day to day.
Beauty is seeing, all nature in view,
So much around us, the old with the new.

Beauty is hearing the incessant sounds of life,
We take this for granted, but some listen with strife.
Beauty is walking without great bodily pain,
When exercising for health, over and over again.

Beauty is seeing the world through our eyes,
This encompasses all, from the earth to the skies.
Beauty is flowers gently swaying in the breeze,
With luxurious green grass, no more healthy weeds.

Beauty to a child is a large ice cream cone,
Something a treat he won’t get at home.
Beauty can be the love of a pet,
Such fun and playfulness from them do we get.

Beauty is seen in a sister’s delight,
When one helps the other in a dangerous plight.
Sisters are special, their bond is so strong,
Nothing between them ever rarely goes wrong.

Beauty is watching your bride walk down the aisle,
Awesomely dressed with an unsurpassed smile.
Glowing so radiantly on this day of life,
You lovingly wait to make her your wife.

Beauty is watching a child slowly mature,
Life is a hard lesson for those who endure.
There’s great pride however, in knowing you’ve excelled.
When your child now mature, has learned his role well.

Beauty is to be seen in the winter of one’s life,
For we know soon there will be no pain and no strife.
We live, we love, we cry and we pray,
That heavenward bound will soon be our way.

Beauty as we know it, on this side of life,
A beautiful family with children and wife,
A love that has grown to mountainous peaks,
But now a love with Him we do seek.

Beauty as defined by our infinite mind,
Has no set rule, nothing that binds.
We see things differently, day in and day out,
But beauty is around us, of that there’s no doubt.

Learn to see beauty as it slides into view,
See the grandeur that shows life anew.
Look for this even when all seems askew,
Bolstering your mind with a new attitude.

Beauty in rare form is seen through our tears,
When a child gives his life to the peer of all peers,
A dedicated soul to the Master this one,
A goal set for heaven when his life is done.

So from now on, when you hear someone say,
That is so beautiful, or what a beautiful day,
Remember that saying is interpreted their way,
But every day alive is be a beautiful day.
